Ferro Vanadium
Ferro Vanadium Is produced using an Aluminothermic process using flux such as calcium oxide or calcium fluoride plus aluminum , V2O5, and iron scrap Other processes used to produce ferro vanadium include electro-alumino thermic, alumino thermic and electro-silico thermic.
Applications:
Mainly used in steel making to provide stability against alkalis and acids such ashydrochloric acid and sulphuric acid. It prevents corrosion in steel and improves tensile strength of welding & casting electrodes
